Resources for Human Development (www.rhd.org) is a comprehensive, nonprofit, social service organization. RHD currently oversees and supports more than 160 locally managed human service programs in 14 states. RHD's mission is to empower
people as they build the highest level of independence possible, building better lives for themselves, their families and their communities.
Resources for Human Development is seeking to hire Recovery Support Specialists to work directly with individuals dually diagnosed with severe and pervasive mental illness living in the Bellevue and West View areas of Pittsburgh.
RSS staff are responsible for the support and enhancement of the quality of life of individuals served, by assisting in day-to-day activities that promote positive outcomes. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing instruction, assistance and role
modeling in life skill areas of leisure time, financial management, medication monitoring, crisis management, accessing community resources, community engagement, shopping and vocational development.
Starting salary range: $10.40- $11.69/hr.
Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have a HS/GED and a valid Driver's License is required to receive consideration. Prior experience/education in a social services field is preferred as well has a history or knowledge of working with adults with significant mental illness. Program
specific training will be provided.
