Responsibilities:The primary role of the Regional Transportation Director is to effectively oversee Regional Transportation Operations for multiple Tier 1 (Regional Mixing Centers), Tier 2 (Distribution Centers and Retail Cross Docks), and Tier 3 (Private Fleet Cross Docks and 3rd Party delivery satellites) operations that service the retail, business-direct, and e-commerce channels of our business.

Strategic direction of all aspects of field transportation operations. Responsible for strategic decisions impacting financial performance, customer experience, associate safety and company risk and liability related to all functional areas managed within private fleet and 3rd party operated delivery facilities.

Works autonomously to define and support the strategic vision of the Supply Chain Organization through the leadership of large-scale network integration projects, commitment to daily operational excellence, and a strong focus on the safety of our associates. The Regional Transportation Director ensures that customers receive the highest level of service overseeing delivery of 20-40M packages annually and approximately $100M in operating expenses.

This position has reporting accountability for an organization of 12-18 Sr. Managers and Managers as well as 125-150 non-exempt employees comprised of delivery specialists and is responsible for associate development, engagement and maintenance of a safe/positive work environment.

In addition, this role is responsible for maintaining strong working relationships with the leadership of multiple departments within the enterprise including BSD Sales, Retail and E-commerce operations, Loss Prevention, IT, Finance, Distribution, Inventory Management, Risk Management, Procurement, Legal and Real Estate as well as outside vendors providing delivery services for Office Depot. Qualifications:The Sr Manager of Transportation owns the Service and P&L for; 2-6 Distributions Centers, 6-8 direct reports (Sr Trans Mgrs and Managers), 4-8 Third Party Logistics companys, $25-35M in operating expense, and 3-8 million deliveries. In addition they own the partnership and alignment with Sales, the 3PL's, the Dc's and Corporate Supply Chain.
