You must be available for assignments worldwide which, at this time, may include serving in the U.S. As a Regional Medical OfficerPsychiatrist youll work to maintain and promote the mental health of employees and their accompanying family members who represent United States government agencies abroad. This includes providing ambulatory amp; emergency psychiatric care, assessing post morale on an on-going basis, providing clinical support in the event of workplace or family violence events and providing educational programs for drug and alcohol abuse prevention, among many others. This position requires a Doctor of MedicineDoctor of Osteopathy degree or equivalent degree at the time of appointment from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation, as well as completion of an internship and psychiatric residency training program. A minimum of five (5) years of post-residency clinical experience in adult or childadolescent psychiatry with at least 50% of the applicants time involved in direct patient care during the last 5 years is required.
