Hanover Specialty Industrial is a business unit of The Hanover Insurance Group that is focused on a broad array of mid-sized industrial accounts. Our risk control centric underwriting model, and unique program management capabilities, have provided high quality underwriting solutions for manufacturing, distribution, processing, storage, and closely related businesses countrywide for almost 50 years.The Regional Manager Distribution Management (RMDM) supports and reports to the Regional Director Distribution Management (RDDM) who is the leader of Hanover Specialty Industrial in their given territory. Quality and volume of submission flow, agency relations and Hanover field office relations are the primary responsibility of the RDDM and will be supported by the RMDM, in their assigned territory. The RMDM's are also expected to work closely with their team of HSIP underwriters and HSIB brokers to develop and maintain strong and profitable relationships.The RMDM's should have a good understanding of the HSIP and HSIB products and are able to customize their approach to the unique selling situation of each of their agents and territories. The RMDM's are expected to prequalify HSIP business prior to forwarding to the applicable underwriter, but HSIB opportunities should be forwarded without prequalification.Responsibilities:
RMDM responsibilities include the following in support of their RDDM:
Oversight of agency relations:
- Proactive and consistent production efforts- Actively engaging underwriter and brokers in relationship- Quarterly status updates on target agents- Quarterly status updates on shallow wells agents- Involvement/monitoring of renewal book as appropriate- Benchmark expectation of 30% to 50% travelOversight of Hanover field office relations:
- At discretion of RDDM to support above agency relations responsibilities- Outreach (email, phone call, videoconference, travel, etc.)- Monitoring volume and quality of submission/referral flow- Quarterly status updates on each officeHSI staff engagement:
- At least weekly check-in meetings with team- Discuss submission activity, renewal accounts, field relationships, issues, etc.Developing and executing state-level and territory-level business plans, including setting reasonable goals in coordination with the HSI team, agents and Hanover field personnel.Position Requirements- Bachelors degree strongly preferred- 5 - 10 years of industry experience with a focus on sales- Sales and marketing experience in a multi-line environment preferred- Ability to self-motivate and drive to succeed, prior experience of demonstrated goal achievement required.- Ability to build meaningful relationships with key agents within a set territory.- Comprehensive knowledge of the end to end sales process and how to pull the appropriate levers in order to obtain the desired outcomes.Benefits to joining The Hanover's team:
