Principal Responsibilities: - Responsible for educating and directing short and long term revenue management strategies in all channels such as GDS, internet and CRS. Manages room inventory through these distribution channels. - Monitors market place activity, trends and demand generators. Controls group pick up, booking pace and turn downs and makes appropriate recommendations. - Coordinates group and transient sales in order to achieve maximum RevPar through utilization of revenue optimization techniques. - Ensures that all rate plans are built in accordance with established guidelines. Job Duties: - Problem Solving- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Develops alternative solutions, uses reason at all times. Makes timely decisions while exhibiting sound judgment. Includes appropriate people in decision making process. - Project Management Organize, maintain and track sales data using sales pro or provided sales tracking software. Prepares weekly, monthly and annual sales reports as required. Analyzes results to determine effectiveness of pricing and selling strategies. Conducts research that assesses revenue management practices of the hotels primary competitors. Monitors and manages E-yield (RMS). Evaluates group booking requests to ensure that the hotels are not displacing higher yielding revenue. Coordinates and provides appropriate strategies to manage pricing, inventory restrictions and room allocations for all market segments including group/SMERF, transient, corporate negotiated, tour group, government, etc. and manage inventory allocations through all electronic distribution channels. - Customer Service Manages difficult or emotional customer situations. Responds promptly to customer needs, requests for service and assistance. Establishes and maintains relationships with customers. - Communication - Demonstrates group presentation skills. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Writes clearly, and has the ability to read and interpret written information. Upholds organizational values, treats people with respect and promotes a harassment free environment. Assists hotel management in analyzing events/trends that may impact the hotels revenues. Conducts weekly meetings with the hotels management team. Assists director of sales with completing the annual room revenue budget including day by day forecast by market as well as Marketing plan. - Quality Management Aligns work with strategic goals, looking for ways to improve and promote quality while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness. Prepares and monitors 90 day rolling forecast by market segment. Manages difficult or emotional employee situations. Provides revenue management training to staff of hotel as applicable. Serves as an informational resource to the hotels management team. - Compliance - Maintains confidentiality. - Business Acumen Assists with developing hotels Sales and Marketing plan based on the hotels position and strength within each market segment. Develops, maintains and provides historical, statistical and related analysis for decision making purposes.
