The Registered Nurse is responsible for using the Nursing Process to meet the needs of patients according to the professional standards of nursing care. The RN assures that the philosophy, mission, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department and Good Samaritan Medical Center are followed.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

The quality of care of a caseload of patients
Delegates appropriately and directs staff in the delivery of care
Assumes responsibility for the appropriate utilization of resources
Collaborates with medical staff and others in the provision of care
Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with others in communication and problem resolution
Is sensitive to the needs of patients, families and fellow co-workers
Plans and provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with age specific needs as well as plans and provides professional nursing care for patients in accordance with any identified cultural diversity needs (such as religions, lifestyles, beliefs, physical capabilities, and cultures)
Supports the mission of GSMC.
Supervises CNAs.

Adheres to all GSMC Service Standards and demonstrates respect for others (patients, visitors, general public, and fellow co-workers) through behavior that exhibits a willingness to be helpful, common courtesy, and friendliness; strives to be a cooperative team member; industrious in giving his/her best efforts creatively for the welfare of the patients and the Medical Center. Must be just, honest, and impartial in all assigned duties.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Candidates must currently be enrolled in BSN program or have successfully completed and been awarded BSN;
Possess current Massachusetts RN license;
CPR Certification;
ACLS certification preferred Part-time Night shift Bachelors degree is preferred Licensure Required 3-5 years experience is required
