The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care; evaluates, plans, implements and gauges the care of patients; supervises and delegates tasks as needed to professional and para-professional personnel. The Registered Nurse coordinates activities for the successful operations of the department and maintains efficient department functions working closely with providers and staff.
Major Responsibilities: Essential Job Functions
? Perform simple to moderately complex nursing procedures within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.
? Perform a comprehensive patient assessment.
? Obtain, interpret, record and report vital signs, (temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure) height, weight and other pertinent patient information to the provider.
? Prepare patients for examinations and other procedures.
? Develop an appropriate nursing care plan.
? Implement a plan of care by performing nursing interventions and assisting with procedures.
? Instruct patients on procedural preparation.
? Perform various patient tests and procedures within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
? Administer medications and other therapeutic modalities within the scope of practice of a registered nurse.
? Document and maintain records of medical and nursing procedures.
Major Responsibilities Requirements

? Perform moderately complex nursing assessments and/or perform specialized procedures within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse.
? State Licensure
? Additional certifications where appropriate of ACLS, PALS.
? Greater than 2 years of experience.
Environmental Working Conditions:
Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings. Recurrent exposure to communicable diseases, medicinal preparation, and clinical equipment.
Activities including standing and walking for an extensive period of time. Requires body motion including reaching, bending and lifting patients. Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
