Hartford Hospital has nationally accredited centers of excellence in Stroke care, Cardiac care and Connecticuts only dually accredited Bariatric surgery center of excellence. The Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital is the only hospital in the Northeast with a National Cancer Institute community cancer program. Our ED treats over 96,000 adult patients per year with conditions ranging from major trauma, heart attacks and strokes to minor illness. The ED has 6 major resuscitation rooms, 56 acute care examination and treatment rooms, 8 fast track rooms and a separate 12 room behavioral health area. Currently, plans are underway to add 20 more acute care examination and treatment rooms. The department works closely with Life Star, Connecticuts only air medical transport service, as well as Connecticut Childrens Medical Center (CCMC) located on the property of Hartford Hospital. Qualifications: Current CT RN license, telemetry background preferred. ICU or ED experience preferred, RN working experience required. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to read, write and speak English. Position Summary: Provide holistic, quality nursing care for patients and their families in the ED ranging from urgent care to critically illinjured patients.
