The RN utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of patients from admission to the department through discharge or transfer. Provides expert care and education to patients in the critical care setting, acts as a patient advocate, leader, mentor and positive role model for assistive personnel. The Critical Care RN is knowledgeable in all procedures, disease processes, interventions and pharmacological agents related to critical care.
Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensed or eligible for licensure in State of Montana as a Registered Nurse. Recent hospital experience and/or previous nursing practice experience required. ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire. Current BLS at time of hire. Healthcare Provider BLS within 3 months of hire. Proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills and computer skills required.
Preferred / Desired: BSN preferred. Previous experience working in Critical Care preferred. Previous experience with Intra Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) preferred. CCRN preferred. ACLS preferred. Current Healthcare Provider BLS.
Works every third weekend.
