We are currently seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to join
our talented and caring team within our adult outpatient
The Registered Nurse:
* Completes clinical nursing assessment of patients
upon admission through patient evaluation and
* Transcribes and carries out physician orders in an
accurate and timely manner.
* Performs all blood draws and waived testing (UDS,
* Completes nursing documentation in a thorough,
accurate and timely manner.
* Ensures patient understanding of medications and/or
medical follow-up during the discharge process.
* Coordinates with the treatment team, family and
patients and implements discharge planning.
* Manages emergency medical situations (use of medical
equipment/emergency process) in following with
facility policy and regulatory requirements.
Offers therapeutic assistance within the milieu as
* Attends mandatory in-services and/or completes
required web-based training.
* Demonstrates respect and tolerance for all patients
without regard to age, gender, race, national
origin, disability status, religion and/or lifestyle
* Assumes responsibility for professional development
and ongoing education.
* Maintains a professional appearance and attitude.
* Serve actively and constructively as a member of the
multi-disciplinary treatment team, supporting the
hospital philosophy of nursing care; to ensure the
safety and well-being of every patient.
PRN would periodically be needed 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Training and Experience: Experience in behavioral health
field desirable, but not required.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Must
demonstrate current licensure with the North Carolina
Board of Nursing (or compact state).
Knowledge/Skills Required: Demonstrate accurate
physical, mental, emotional and spiritual assessment
skills and ability to clearly communicate findings both
verbally and in writing. Demonstrate theoretical and
practical knowledge of Standards of Nursing Practice and
Care in all aspects of care provided. Demonstrate
knowledge and support of the psychotherapeutic based
treatment model and ability to utilize knowledge in
patient care and therapeutic milieu. Able to communicate
effectively in English through written and verbal means.
Ability to plan and provide individualized nursing care.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluation of
situations and/or making nursing decisions. Ability to
remain calm in crisis situations and utilize approved
Physical Demands: Work is physically and mentally
demanding. Must be able to lift, push and pull 25+
pounds. Must be able to participate in physical
restraints. Must be able to remain calm and professional
in crisis situations.
