Job Summary

The Pediatric Acute Care resource team is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with psychiatric nursing experience with exposure to Med/Surg and/or Oncology. This role will play an important role in the ACRT by providing psychiatric nursing support, as well as Med/Surg and/or Oncology. The nurse will provide psychiatric support for the BCH patient population with special emphasis on adolescent populations.

* The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care for mothers and babies

* Function as members of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams

* Carry out established nursing procedures and perform related duties as required

* Perform nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision

* Assist with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team

Required Qualifications

* Minimum of one year of recent clinical RN pediatric psychiatric nursing experience in a medical center inpatient setting

* Previous Med/Surg and/or Oncology experience

* Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California

* Active American Heart Association CPR certification

* Active American Heart Association PALS certification

* Active NRP certification within 6 months of employment

* Carry out established nursing procedures, and perform nursing care for patients with complex needs

* The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations

Preferred Qualifications

* One or more years of Oncology and/or Med/Surg experience

* BSN

* Emergency Department experience

Licensure/Certification

* Active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California

* Active American Heart Association CPR certification

* Active American Heart Association PALS certification

* Active NRP certification within 6 months of employment
