Manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the care of patients. Care delivery is based on criteria that are both age and population appropriate. A ?specialty? may require more specific skills. Documents according to unit and hospital standards of practice. Collaborates with other healthcare team members, leadership, and medical staff to provide safe patient care. Responsible for compliance of regulatory standards and SJH report card items. ? Demonstrates availability to float to different areas as the need arises within their designated shift (I.e. if census drops in one area and increases in another area they will be asked to go and work in the area with greatest need). ? If floating to critical care must meet all the critical care job essential duties and responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: ASN degree from accredited program required upon hire* BSN degree from an accredited program required within 60 months of hire (5 years)* Current State of Montana Registered Nurse License* Basic Life Support certification Advanced Life Support certification required within 9 months of hire PALS (RN Float within 9 months)* PALS or ENPC (RN 5th and RN ICU within 9 months) *Upon hire, any nurse with only an ASN degree must become enrolled in a BSN program within three (3) months and must be consistently working toward a BSN degree after enrollment. All ASN nurses must complete a BSN degree within sixty (60) months from the nurse?s date of hire. Failure to obtain a BSN degree within that time frame may result in suspension or termination of employment. Any nurse who takes legally protected leave during the 60-month completion period may have the period extended by a comparable amount of time. Preferred Qualifications: RN clinical experience with high acuity, multiple critical care patient populations National Certification in area of practice RN Clinical experience with high acuity, multiple critical care patient populations One year experience as an RN TNCC (RN ICU)
