Registered Nurse (RN)

New Grads Welcome to Apply

Rapid City, SD
Salary: $60K - $80K (DOE)

The most important requirement is RN License for South Dakota.

SD is a compact state, licensing should transfer easily.

Client is OK with new grads, but need someone with working knowledge of the day-to-day experience in Senior Care.

As a member of the multidisciplinary care team, the candidate will provide general nursing care to residents.

You will contribute to overall resident care which is guided by the resident care plan, facility policies and procedures, and professional standards of practice.

You will be required to directly supervises the Resident Assistants.

Current South Dakota Registered Nurse license required.

This position is for evening or nights.

The evening schedule is typically 2:00pm-10:30pm and the night schedule is 10pm - 6:30am.

Candidates will typically train for a month on the day shifts, but this person will primarily be working evenings/nights.

Shift differentials for RN is $2/hr. evening / $2.75/hr. nights.

The facility is a combined facility hospital, you will be working in the long term care division.

The facility has 84 beds and has 2 units.

This facility doesn't do highly acute/skilled nursing duties (NO kicklines, breathing machines etc) this is more of a step-down facility, a lot of comfort care, end of life care etc.

This is not an assisted living facility.

YOU will report to the DON who is specific to long term care.

There is a Charge Nurse on each unit, certified nursing assistance and/or certified medication aids on each shift (usually 2-4 per shift).

The most important requirement is RN License for South Dakota.

My client is a compact state, licensing should transfer easily.

You will need at least 1+ years of Senior Care experience (ideally).

Client is OK with new grads, but need someone with working knowledge of the day-to-day experience in Senior Care.

Compensation range for RN's New Grad $20.30/hour.
8-10 years experience $25.38/hour.
11+ experience is case-by-case basis $30/hour is likely the cap.

What are the nice-to-have skills

Need someone who loves the elderly and is comfortable in this type of environment/clientele.

Client does not allow fake finger nails for hygiene purposes, must be willing to have a flu shot.

This is a great foot-in-the-door opportunity.

Facility is attached to a hospital, so there is opportunity to grow/transfer into other areas of the company.

There are still critical situations that happen in this facility, so there is opportunity for experience in those types of situations and running the code.

This is a great, rural area, with lots of outdoor activities to do (skiing, hiking, fishing, etc.).

Many towns near here, Spearfish, Sturgis, Whitetown etc.

Great benefits.

No CME's.

The Interview Process is conducted via Phone Screen with DON who may sometimes use Skype.

A decision will be forthcoming immediately after interview.
