Registered Nurse

Department: Mental Health - Adult Inpt - HSCH

Utilizes the nursing process within a patient focused care environment in providing direct and indirect care of patients to achieve the hospital mission of competent, Christian, holistic patient care. Patients cared for range in age from 5 years to geriatric (depending on setting) with primary mental health and/or chemical dependency issues. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.
EDUCATION
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Baccalaureate or Masters in Nursing preferred.

EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of nursing standards, policies, procedures, patient rights and ethics. Previous experience in mental health nursing is preferred. Sufficient training will be provided in lieu of required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Minnesota. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. American Nurses Association (ANA) Psychiatric Mental Health Certification preferred. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) initial and On-going Training required and provided. Part-time Day/Evening rotation
