A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for assessing, diagnosing and treating human responses to actual and potential health problems through systematic use of the nursing process, health counseling, health teaching, provision of nursing care and services supportive to and restorative to life and well-being, and executing medical regimens as prescribed by a licensed physician. The Registered Nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed professional nurse and is accountable to patients for the delivery of safe, appropriate, effective, quality nursing care and services consistent with the ANA Code for Nurses, Standards of Nursing Practice, and the Patient Care Standards established by the Department of Nursing.

Consideration for employment as an RN in the Nursing Department at Aria Health requires completion and passing of a screening exam. This exam includes 15 questions related to medications (for example, insulin, common cardiac medications, etc), dosage calculations, common conversions and IV fluid rates (ml/hr & gtts/min).
