IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
* Performing patient/resident care under direct supervision of a therapy, demonstrating appropriate clinical skills, and providing assistance according to departmental policies and procedures and applicable state practice guidelines
* Transporting patients to treatment area with timely arrival for therapy appointment
* Assuring that equipment and treatment areas remain clean, properly stored and ready for use according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures
* Communicating impressions and objective information in a clear and timely manner to therapists, supervisors, and others as directed to insure efficient coordination and optimal outcomes
* Performing clerical duties as directed by staff and supervisors in a timely manner to insure smooth daily operations of the department
* Demonstrating familiarity with basic computer skills (including scheduling, transporter lists, billing and ability to set up new patient / administer survey and D/C in FOTO)
* Maintaining logs (Hot and Cold pack temperature logs, oxygen level log, refrigerator checks, code cart)
* Participating in Network Initiatives
* Supervising exercise programs, leads group exercises, documents appropriately (attendance, fees paid), and demonstrates knowledge of the specific needs relative to the safety of the participant
* Completing at least 6 MEUs / competencies each year (May include CPR)
IF YOU POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS, PLEASE APPLY IMMEDIATELY:
* High School diploma or equivalent required
* Patient care related experience strongly preferred
* CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
* Physical Requirements: Standing and/or walking most of an 8 hour day with occasional lifting of weights up to 50 lbs. and frequent lifting of weights up to 25 lbs. Frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, pushing on carpeted surfaces, pulling, reaching, stair climbing, and standing unassisted. Occasional transferring of patients exceeding 200 lbs, frequent transferring of patients exceeding 100 lbs
* Visual Requirements: Continuous near vision, depth perception, accommodation, full field of vision or compensatory ability, eye hand coordination, far acuity, and ability to read
* Hearing Requirements: Continuous normal conversation, occasional telephone conversation at normal volumes, occasional conversation at low voice volumes
* Working Conditions: Limited exposure to potentially hazardous substances. Frequent exposure to body fluids and patients who are incontinent and/or confused. Occasional exposure to patients who are combative and/or verbally abusive. Treatment areas may be noisy and crowded with limited climate control
