Superior Technical Resources is looking for a Research Analyst for a client in Lake Buena Vista, FL.


GENERAL ROLE DESCRIPTION
The work involves a basic understanding of all functional areas of the Information Research Center - East: user services (circulation, reference and research), technical services (acquisitions and cataloguing), and administrative services (overseeing library operations, including budget, statistical reports, labor, communications, etc.).

CORE FUNCTIONS AND RESPONDSIBILITES

Assist in circulation services via an integrated library system, including creating new accounts, checking-in/checking-out materials, shelving and tracking materials, requesting materials from outside sources, etc.
Assist in reference services, including conducting reference interviews, assisting users locate materials, instruction in locating materials via online catalog, etc.
Assist in research services utilizing various internal and external systems, including identifying requested information/materials, determining format and time frame, identifying proper source(s) to retrieve information/materials.
Assist in acquisitions services, including deaccessioning outdated or underutilized materials, identifying “gaps” in current collection, identifying requested and current materials, purchasing materials on an ongoing basis adhering to library budget.
Assist in cataloging services, including original and/or copy cataloging of a diverse set of materials (including those in both analog and digital formats).


TECHNICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Working knowledge of PC and Mac operating systems.
Working knowledge of application software, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
Basic knowledge of integrated library systems.
Basic knowledge of various information retrieval tools and techniques (i.e., search engines, content management systems, Boolean search operators, etc.)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including information reporting and presentation.
Strong organizational skills in managing large amounts of information in a variety of formats.
Strong interpersonal/partnering skills, ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of organization.
Ability to multitask, including flexibility in adhering to shifting priorities.


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Currently enrolled in or recent graduate with a Masters degree in Library and/or Information Science.
