Job Description

The Rockefeller University, a leading biomedical research institute, seeks a Research Assistant to join Chromatin Biology and Epigenetics. Will perform day-to-day laboratory techniques such as nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) purification from human tissue samples, immunofluorescence staining and imaging, real time PCR, chromatin immunoprecipitation, and sample preparation for next-generation DNA and RNA sequencing.

Bachelor's degree in science required; Master's degree and educational emphasis in molecular biology or cell biology preferred. Must have a minimum of two years of related experience in cell and molecular biology laboratory work and be able to interact well with others and work as part of a team. Familiarity with computers and knowledge of online scientific databases necessary. Must be highly self-motivated and able to work within diverse laboratory settings.
