JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB SUMMARY
The department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry seeks a Research Assistant Senior. Successful candidates are expected to know fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a molecular/cellular research lab.
Ability to work alongside senior scientists to produce reliable and precise data, carry out routine tasks accurately and the ability to follow strict methodologies. Knowledge of molecular techniques as western blots, RNA extraction and real time PCR would be an advantage.
Ability to maintain meticulous records of experiments, laboratory data, proficient using Microsoft office and other scientific /data analysis software and being an independent worker is essential.
Duties include laboratory maintenance, general chemistry (buffers/reagents), maintain and operate standard lab equipment.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES
Protein separation and purification, molecular biology, enzyme assays, immunoprecipitation and Western blotting; record keeping; master lab techniques, daily lab, tissue isolation and cell culture.
DOES THIS POSITION HAVE SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES*
MS in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry or other relevant area with 2 years of relevant experience
