The incumbent will provide research support to the UCLA Community Engagement and Research Program of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute and report to the Principal Investigators and Program Manager.


At least 2-5 years experience in community engagement, clinical research in care of the underserved, health disparities, or related areas. Understanding of public health, health systems and health policy. Excellent communication (written, oral and interpersonal) skills with individuals of diverse backgrounds. Skill in writing clear, concise, grammatically correct meetings notes, agendas, and e-mails. Experience in community engagement and/or community-based participatory research (CBPR). Strong community-sensitive interpersonal skills. Ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources, and communicate a summary to diverse audiences. Strong problem solving skills. Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environment based on changing priorities and frequent interruptions. Experience working in teams and independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with faculty, other staff, community partners and research partners. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize, and meet deadlines, organize multiple tasks, keep materials in order, track various projects, accurately maintain calendar, schedule meetings and coordinate events. Experience operating office equipment including a PC, photocopy machines, audio-visual equipment, projectors, microphones, etc. Demonstrate competence with MS Office and willing to learn additional software programs. Ability to update program s Facebook, website, and social media. Maintain confidentiality of information on research participants. Spanish-speaking (written and writing). Access to automobile to attend events throughout Los Angeles County.
