JOB DUTIES:

Project coordinator will be assisting a Principal Investigator on his research projects on poverty, substance abuse, and urban social inequality. The SRA will be working side-by-side with Principal Investigator editing text and retrieving data from online archives. S/he will manage a qualitative research database by updating codes of field notes and provide transcription review and correction. The SRA will orgainze the office archive and library. The positions requires ability to take rapid dictation and edit documents, monitor email and correspondance, and learn various computer programs.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

BA or BS in Humanities, Social Sciences, or Behavioral/Laboratory Sciences strongly preferred. Experience with editorial training and experience in office management. Ability to use computers on a Windows platform, fast typing and ability to learn new computer softwares as needed. Proficiency in the following programs highly desirable: Zotero, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, NVivo, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Powerpoint, Firefox, Chrome. Excellent English language skills. Knowledge of Spanish and French languages desirable to assist with dictation and editing transcribed interviews and research databases. Understanding of social science and humanities theory and relevance to field of Public Health desirable. Flexibility to work non-standard and varying hours. Ability to work efficiently under time-pressure and against deadlines.
