JOB DUTIES:

Assists with and maintains the imaging center s operations of PET, CT, optical scanners, and associated equipment used with small animal research as main duties. Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining sufficient stock of reagents/supplies as needed. Additional tasks include assisting with regulatory aspects including biosafety inspections and radiation safety, as well as oversight of animal use (ARC and DLAM) protocols.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic understanding of biology, animal physiology, and molecular imaging research. Organized and detail-oriented; maintains up-to-date, accurate and organized schedules and records on a timely basis. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, postdocs, and students about basic imaging theory, techniques and protocols. Skilled at writing reports and working with spreadsheets, databases, and email. Ability to multi-task to meet deadlines. Experienced in working with small animals such as mice and rats (handling, injections, general physiology and maintenance and dissections.) Ability to learn pre-clinical imaging systems. Ability to work independently and troubleshoot scheduling conflicts, etc. Ability to follow directions and to both work independently and to work well with a team when needed. Ability to keep laboratory space clean, safe and organized; ability to order and maintain imaging and associated equipment. Ability to lift dose carriers and exchange gas tanks (~20 lbs.) Knowledge of Radiation Safety requirements and ability to use or learn imaging software for data analysis is preferred.
