The Department of Surgery, affiliated with the Markey Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky, is immediately seeking to hire a Research Associate who will be engaged in translational research projects aimed at validating a novel therapeutic target that is inextricably linked to activation of several key resistance pathways in breast cancer. Candidates should be highly motivated with outstanding training in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and the ability to accurately validate novel therapeutic agents in monolayer cutures, human 3D cultures/organoids and orthotopic/subcutaneous and patient-derived xenograft models. Candidate must be reliable, have high ethical standards and unparalleled integrity. Must have experience with statistical analyses of data, computers and database applications (Microsoft excel, statistical analyses, ImageJ, Living Image etc).
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES
MS Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, statistical analysis (eg ImageJ, Living Image)
DOES THIS POSITION HAVE SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES*
PhD with at least three years of post-doctoral experience preferred. Experience with cancer mouse models and 3D cultures an asset.
