JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The Research Professional 1 will engage in scientific research involving the molecular basis of B cell receptor signaling to define therapeutic targets for B cell malignancies and will engage in research on sensitivity and resistance to molecular-targeted therapies. http://pathology.uchicago.edu/directory/y-lynn-wang-md-phd-fcap.
Take initiatives and work independently in developing new research ideas and developing/trouble-shooting new assays. Design, plan and perform experiments, analyze and interpret data, and present and write research results
Develop advanced technologies including next-generation DNA/RNA sequencing methods related to scientific hypothesis formulation, testing and application to samples derived from the patient materials. Construct and maintain patient database. Analyze multi-dimensional data using appropriate statistical analytic methods.
Teach and train students, pathology residents, clinical fellows and other trainees
Lead or participate in weekly laboratory meetings and University of Chicago weekly Seminar Series.
Collaborate with peers in research and publication.
Present research findings at local and national scientific/medical conferences.
Perform other job-related duties as required
Must successfully complete annual training requirements for: HIPAA Privacy Education, HIPAA Security Education, Blood Borne Pathogens, Chemical Hygiene, Fire Safety, Personal Protection Equipment, Respiratory Equipment, Radioactive Materials and other training as required.
