Job Description
The Statistics and Epidemiology Unit at RTI International (RTI) is currently seeking a Research Public Health Analyst. The candidate will participate in the development of research study design, data collection tools and instruments, as well as the implementation of monitoring procedures for domestic and possibly international studies.Additional activities include: participation in studies involving observation and assessment of both the worker and the work environment, medical surveillance programs, and industrial hygiene services.
Responsibilities
Managing and monitoring survey and secondary data, managing data collection, analyzing tasks and budgets, developing protocols and training materials, preparing reports and writing proposals
Design and implement research studies including development of study protocols, manuals of operation, data collection instruments; provide project coordination, management and oversight, lead or co-lead training, participate in analysis and reporting.
Develop study documents and materials including CRFs, manual of procedures and monitoring plans.
Advise staff on study procedures and Good Clinical Practices (GCP).
Managing overall project tasks, monitoring the work of consultants/subcontractors, as well as analyzing data.
Identify new opportunities through existing clients, web searches, or conference attendance.
Contribute to journal articles; co-author abstracts for submission to conferences; make project level presentations.
Qualifications
Master s degree in public health, epidemiology, or a related field.
Training in health and/or social science who can contribute to the planning, development, and implementation of research, evaluation, or field studies within the fields of chronic and/or infectious disease prevention and control.
Experience with GCP and ICH guidelines and procedures for FDA regulated studies
Experience in applying epidemiologic methods to clinical, epidemiological, behavioral or environmental problems.
A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in an environment that focuses on research and evaluation in on topics that include: cancer, obesity, tobacco control, nutrition, and/or chronic disease prevention.
Applicants should have demonstrated a track record of writing grants/proposals and/or publications in peer reviewed journals.
To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status***

Experience working with National Institutes of Health
Experience with SAS and/or analytic software
PMP Certification
