Research Specialist 2

Research Specialist 2: Helps design experiments, interprets results and assists in writing articles for publication. Maintains the day-to-day operations of the laboratory; orders supplies and materials. Performs in-vitro studies incorporating a broad range of molecular biological and protein based techniques. Independently, develops and tests methodology based on known techniques and literature reviewed. Reviews initial analysis and interpretation of data to verify hypotheses. Results will be reviewed with PI, and, if new techniques need to be applied, it will be determined at that time; experiments will be carried out based on new methodology.
Writes reports on the results of the experiments for internal use and assists in writing articles and reports for publication. When required, represents the PI, helps maintain database and performs statistical analyses of research data. Assists in teaching students. Attends regular meetings with the PI.

The research being conducted is primarily related to the study of cancer and its treatment.
