JOB DESCRIPTIONUnder direction of the Principle Investigator, the Research Technologist will provide technical and administrative support in an exciting research program investigating the role of innate immunity in acute leukemia and therapeutic strategies to reverse immune tolerance. Laboratory-related responsibilities would include performing moderately complex lab and research-related duties and tasks. Specific laboratory skills include performing immunological assays using in vivo and in vitro models of tumor immunity. Also perform basic molecular and biochemical techniques, including RNA isolation, gel electrophoresis, RT-PCR, and quantitative PCR. Perform small animal procedures including subcutaneous, intravenous, and intraperitoneal injection and manage mouse colony, including record keeping. Work independently and engage in practical problem-solving, consulting with principal investigator on research only as needed. Coordinate and organize the smooth and efficient operation of the lab including ordering of supplies, instrument repair, and other laboratory duties.
