The residency coordinator represents the Residency/Residency Director for the program s housestaff. Provides support for Practice Administrator, Chairman, Faculty and Volunteer faculty staff. The individual who holds this positions exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Dermatology Resident Orientation and Support
Candidate provides support to Resident trainee s through-out their 3 year program.
Serves as a liaison between resident and administration, has a key role in supporting healthy
Resident Schedule and Rotation Support
Candidate ensures resident schedules and rotation support are provided and documented in a timely manner. Compiles and tabulates data for surveys, questionnaires, census reports, accreditation reports, WebADS, Med Hub, annual reports, duty hours monitoring and attestations, case log/stat data, residency competencies.
Residency Program Director Support and Program Administration
Candidate supports Program Director and completes all ACGME accreditation program activities and program documentation in a timely manner. Utilize ACGME, GME-track, Freida and ABD databases. Attend Rush GME coordinator meetings.
Residency Program Application and Recruitment Process
Support the Department Resident Application Committee for annual recruitment process.
Utilize ERAS and NRMP databases for recruitment cycle.
Department Program Administration and Secretarial support
Provide administrative support for Department Administrator, Chairman and Faculty.
Complete department travel, dues, and expenditures per RUMC policy.
Place department supply orders and maintain inventory. Facilitate department events.
Update department website and newsletter quarterly. Serves as back up to Transcribing Secretary.
Department Basic Science Seminar Grand Rounds Lecture Program
Facilitate CME - Continuing Medical Education program. Coordinate schedules, speakers, lecture materials and evaluations.
Medical Student Clerkship program
Support Department Clerkship director Schedule medical student rotations.
Utilize OASIS, BLACKBOARD database for education, student schedule and evaluation process.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
High School diploma required. Previous experience as residency coordinator or college degree preferred.
Three years of office experience, or equivalent experience in administration in an academic health care setting (testing will occur at time of interview)
Willing and able to interact with hospital administration and other departments to carry out the mission of the program.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must have a strong grasp of computer skills and be proficient in the use of general computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. (testing will occur at time of interview)
Must have problem-solving and decision-making skills, organizational expertise and attention to detail
Maintains strict confidentiality on all issues related to the position.
Ability to work with minimal or no supervision
Ability to take initiative and represent the program independently
Ability to set goals and manage multiple complicated tasks simultaneously
Anticipate problems before they arise and solve others that occur
Marketing skills to promote program for recruitment
