JOB DESCRIPTIONDescription/Job Summary
The Part-time and/or On-Call (as needed) Residential Advisor position is a non-exempt, hourly employee with responsibility for assisting the individual in their care with daily activities, daily programs, behavior issues, and health and safety skills. The
RA must conduct all program operations in accordance with the principles of normalization abiding by sound ethical social work practices. The primary job functions include but are not limited to:
Instruction in life skill areas including, but not limited to, academic, personal and home care, meal planning/preparation, leisure time planning, financial management, shopping, socialization and etiquette, accessing community resources, vocational development,
social and interpersonal development;
Counseling, providing guidance, direction and/or redirection, as necessary;
Support individuals to identify and achieve the personal outcomes important to them
General maintenance of the home, in accordance with acceptable community standards conducive to consumer habitation;
Assessment of consumers and program needs;
Administering medications under the approved guidelines;
Attendance and participation in staff meetings, staff training, supervision sessions and other client/program related meetings as designated by supervisor.
Arrangement and accompaniment of individuals to medical services and other appointments as necessary;
Logging all data pertaining to the individuals served;
Writing reports as necessary;
Upholding the RHD Mission and Values;
Performance of other related work as required or requested by the supervisor.
Assist individuals with general housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, and shopping duties.
Assist individuals in the handling of money and finances.
Provide age appropriate leisure time activities.
High School Diploma/GED
Valid PA Drivers License
Background and FBI checks specified by the State of Pennsylvania
Must commit to attend a full week orientation, and additional trainings during the year to reflect by the State of Pennsylvania mandatory training.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet the consumers needs.
