Under the general direction of the physician and director, the Respiratory Therapist provides quality respiratory care. Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. Long periods of standing, walking, stooping, heavy lifting and bending are required. Risks exposure to disease, infection, physical strain, and assault. Risks exposure to blood, body fluids and tissue radiation, and anti-neoplastic agents. Must be able to lift 50 lb. independently. RRT - Graduate of an approved Associate Degree Program in Respiratory Care and successful completion of NBRC Registry Exam. CRTT - Graduate of an approved Associate Degree Program in Respiratory Care or an approved Certification Program in Respiratory Care and successful completion of NBRC Certification Exam. One year experience in Respiratory Care preferred. A current Respiratory Care Practitioner s license issued by the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NALS), and the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained during the first year of employment. Full-time Nights
