Facility: John C. Lincoln Hospital - Deer Valley at Phoenix
Department: Respiratory Services

The Respiratory Therapist - Registered (RRT) position is responsible for administration of basic and acute respiratory care in all areas of the hospital, including the critical care units outpatient diagnostic testing and to patients of all age groups. S/he must possess adequate knowledge in the equipment and procedures utilized in these areas to be able to function in a safe and therapeutic manner.
Deer Valley Hospital: In addition to the position summary outlined above, incumbent will perform Arterial Blood Gas procedures and ECG procedures, and miscellaneous duties as necessary.
1. Performs basic and acute respiratory care, administration of oxygen, ventilator care and associated monitoring as well as critical care to all age groups.
2. Dispenses pharmacological solutions as prescribed by physician.
Must possess and utilize a general knowledge of indications, contraindications, and complications of medications administered through aerosalinization. Will respond accordingly to policy and procedure in the event of adverse reactions and/or inappropriate orders as demonstrated through observation and documentation.
3. Documents all respiratory treatments and patient responses in the medical record. Maintains departmental paperwork according to current standard.
4. Practices infection control and safety precautions as dictated by applicable regulations.
5. Provides patient/caregiver education.
6. Provides comprehensive respiratory assessment following order set of respiratory to evaluate and treat model.

Position Qualifications:
Graduate of accredited respiratory program
0-6 months respiratory experience
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Current AZ Respiratory License
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support ( Pool/On-call Variable hours and days
