Job Purpose: To serve meals to patrons according to established rules of etiquette. Job Responsibilities: 1. Display good customer relation skills and take initiative to greet guests in a friendly manner. 2. Serves ice water and/or coffee upon greeting the table. 3. Presents menu to diner, suggesting dinner courses, appropriate wines, and answering questions regarding food preparation. 4. Writes order on the check or memorizes it. 5. Relays order to the kitchen or bar and serve courses from kitchen and service bars. 6. Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving. 7. Serves patrons from dish at the table on occasion. 8. Observes diners to fulfill any additional request and to perceive when meal has been completed. 9. Totals bill and accepts payment or refers patron to cashier. 10. Replenishes supplies and prepares for the next meal.
