JOB DESCRIPTIONOPERATIONS ASSOCIATE III CREDIT CARD DISPUTE ANALYST
FULL TIME: MONDAY-FRIDAY 8:00-4:30PM
285 DELAWARE AVENUE, BUFFALO, NY
The incumbent will perform skilled, routine, and non-routine clerical duties requiring simple analysis and expanded use of judgment within assigned department. Contain highly specialized knowledge of functions of data entry and verification of customer account and bank data maintenance related to core systems including Total Systems, Visa Resolve Online, Dispute Management Automation, and General Ledger postings / reconciliations. They will complete in depth research on customer disputed charges and finalize resolution of claims while providing exceptional service following the Banking Operations Service Excellence standards. Additionally, they will assist with various administrative tasks.
GENERAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain up-to-date, thorough understanding of processes and procedures for each assigned function allowing ease in identifying possible problems/issues resulting in mitigation of risk.
Perform exception processing and research accurately and timely.
Assist in research and resolution of Fraud and Non-Fraud Investigations for the retail credit card product.
Works with internal contacts within department as well as Corporate Security and other M&T departments.
Ensure proper escalation of issues and possible system problems.
Verify accuracy of data entered to the system based on the source documents.
Open, sort and distribute mail to assigned representatives within area.
Compile information for routine reports and offsite storage.
Cross train co-workers on similar responsibilities.
The incumbent works under moderate supervision and exercises reasonable judgment in performing duties.
Performs other duties as requested by management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School or GED required. A minimum of two years professional work experience.
Ability to navigate between multiple systems simultaneously.
Moderate problem solving and math skills.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Good organizational and customer service skills.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Associates or Bachelors Degree
Three or more years office experience
Previous knowledge and understanding of Retail Credit Card product, dispute process, and Regulation Z.
Previous experience with departmental software (Total Systems, Visa Resolve On-line, Dispute Management Automation).
Some accounting experience understanding debits and credits and able to balance/reconcile.
Familiar with business terms.
