Job Description

Sodexo's University's Segment is seeking a results driven and outgoing Food Retail Manager 2 for their account at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC), in Utica, NY. MVCC is part of the SUNY System (State University of New York). The College is located in the city of Utica, NY, approximately 45 minutes east of Syracuse, NY and 1.5 hours west of Albany on the New York State Thruway. MVCC has two primary areas that the Retail Manager would oversee. One is the Alumni Student Center which features Simply to Go, A Grille @MVCC, Salad Toss, Pizza Joint featuring homemade dough and a Wholly Habaneros concept serving authentic Mexican food. Total retail food volume is around $1M annually. The other location this individual would oversee is a Sammies Deli, which is located in the Academic Building. The position also oversees the Campus Catering Operation, though the support of a Catering Supervisor. Reporting to the Food Operations Manager, this manager will have oversight for 25-30 associates and 4 supervisors. Enjoy a regular schedule of Monday through Friday with the occasional need to work evenings and weekends as business needs and events require. The ideal candidate will have the following: * College/university retail food service management experience, * Experience managing multiple fast food service units, * Cash handling experience, * Experience leading and training a retail food service staff, * Experience with labor management systems. Position Summary Maintains food quality and customer service in a cash handling retail food operation that includes branded concepts, in-house formats and signature designs. May assume General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence. Assists in maintenance of cash control and payroll records. Assists in supporting the financial/Human Resources (HR) functions. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Qualifications & Requirements Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED Basic Management Experience - 1 year Basic Functional Experience - 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations.
