li Primary contact for routine participant inquiries regarding the Staff Retirement Plans including plan features, benefits and procedures /li li Present general Staff Retirement Plans and 401(k) Plan information at new hire orientation; /li li Generate and review benefit statements that are provided to participants upon separation from service or upon request; /li li Provide benefit estimates, upon request, for employees considering retirement; /li li Speak with exiting and retiring employees, explain timing and forms of benefit payment and benefit election procedures; /li li Generate and review benefit amounts and distribution election forms and process benefit payments; /li li Reconcile Staff Plan payments and non-qualified Supplemental Plan payments monthly; /li li Conduct PeopleSoft review of plan participation and beneficiary designation data; answer questions regarding beneficiary designations; /li li Annually generate and review service for re-hired participants and temporary employees who become participants; /li li Generate and review annual statements for active partner participants in the Staff Plans; /li li Assist with other staff retirement plans matters, such as qualified domestic relations orders, death benefit /li /ul
payments, IRS determination letter applications, and Form 5500 filings; br ul
li Generate benefit amounts for a nonqualified plan and journalize the payments; /li li Correspond with vendors /li li Assist with plan communications and compliance notices; /li li Help to develop internal control and data reconciliation procedures for Department; /li li Update procedures in Retirement Plans Department Procedure Manual; and /li li Work on special projects as assigned /li /ul
br Requirements: br ul
li Bachelor’s degree /li li A minimum of 3 + years of experience in Retirement Plans administration /li li Familiarity with the principles of retirement systems administration/management and processes, including compliance requirements under the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA, and relevant legislation /li li Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook and Excel /li li Experience working with PeopleSoft or other databases preferred /li li Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) credential from ASPPA or similar qualified retirement plan certification/training /li li An understanding of basic accounting terminology /li /ul
