VCU Health Systems Financial Services Office of Patient Accounting is seeking a full time Revenue Cycle Data Analyst Senior to work directly with the Director of Physician Billing and other billing office management staff in order to provide extensive payment research, analysis and database management. Performs analyses and develops reports regarding payor reimbursement patterns, underpayment and overpayment trends, RVU trends relative to payment trends and the ongoing evaluation of opportunities for improvement in charge capture, billing and collection operations. Works collaboratively with other IDX reporting staff and other MCVP designated staff to accomplish goals. Collects, analyzes, validates and reports physician and payor data.
Data collection, analysis and reporting of reimbursement information (standard and ad hoc reports).
Maintain and update various databases.
Develop performance data reports to support clinical departments.
Periodically supervise MHA student and support staff.
Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health from an accredited program
Minimum of five (5) years experience in data analytics in any industry
Previous experience with Microsoft applications and e-mail/calendaring software
Masters Degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Public Health from an accredited program
Minimum of five (5) years experience in facility billing or physician practice, Health Insurance Company or ambulatory care setting working with healthcare finance and/or billing/collections
Previous experience with COGNOS or other data warehouse software Full time 1: Days Bachelors degree is required Computer skills are required Customer service skills are required Excellent communication skills are required
