JOB DESCRIPTIONRevenue Royalty Accountant
Job Synopsis: Under general direction of the Revenue Royalty Team Lead, the revenue royalty accountant is responsible for the receipt and recording of oil, gas and NGL’s revenues on a timely and accurate basis together with the disbursement of revenues, royalties and taxes to the proper parties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Generate monthly volumetric upload file and reconcile volumes.
Accurate and timely bookings and reporting of revenues.
Validate production data; verification of pricing.
Analyze sales volume determinations, meter volume data.
Process various types of invoices for payment, including transportation and cash out invoices.
Prepare revenue related journal entries.
Reconciliation of the applicable revenue, receivable and royalty balance sheet on a timely basis.
Assist in internal and external audits.
Follow all internal controls related to revenue royalty accounting.
Prepare ad-hoc operational and financial reports as requested.
Other duties and special projects as assigned, including potential simultaneous multi-projects.
Knowledge and Skills
Prior revenue royalty accounting experience in fast paced environment.
Experience working with production, revenue and royalty systems.
Understanding of the revenue distribution process.
Working knowledge of plant and pipeline statements.
Working knowledge of gas balancing and pricing.
Self-motivated with willingness to work in challenging environment.
Strong analytical, problem solving and accounting skills.
Detailed, organized and task oriented.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years prior revenue royalty accounting experience in fast paced environment.
Minimum of 3 years prior experience working with plant and pipeline statements.
Minimum of 3 years prior experience working with gas balancing and pricing.
The legal authorization to work in the US for anyone other than current employer.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public or business administration.
Minimum of 5 years of onshore oil and gas industry experience.
Minimum of 5 yearsSAP experience.
Minimum of 5 years Excellent PC skills, in particular Excel.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
The willingness and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people, on a multicultural environment.
Bilingual Spanish a plus
