This is a strategic position with responsibility for analysis and oversight in Risk Management activities. This position implements policy and organizational changes as appropriate to meet the stated Risk Management objectives. The Quality Improvement Analyst is responsible for improving the processes within the Risk Management Department by impacting safety, quality, service, cost and productivity. This is done through Continuous Quality Improvement Initiatives, via the use of performance data to monitor the effectiveness of processes, providing timely feedback, setting ever higher targets, creation of a quality culture, an ability to benchmark best practices and the application of CQI tools and techniques. The Quality Improvement Analyst coaches teams in the use of quality improvement tools and methodologies. Provides training, advice and coaching in Lean Six Sigma to Corporate Staff. Essential Job Duties: - Develops and directs a Continuous Quality Improvement Program within the Risk Management Department. Collaborates with the Director of Risk Management for the Behavioral Health Division and Assistant Corporate Risk Managers. Participates in committees and other forums promoting patient safety. - Provides a coordinated, objective and systematic approach to Continuous Quality Improvement Activities by implementing an effective prevention action system. - Performs research, statistical projects and studies for the Clinical Risk Management Department. - Establishes and conducts performance audits as a result of adverse incidents. - Analyzes Risk Management reports. Provides guidance, oversight and direction for addressing patient safety concerns, patterns and trends. - Develops monthly and quarterly reports regarding audit results, actions taken to improve results. Submits all audits and results in the required timeframes. - Participates in ongoing communication with Corporate Staff, ensures all Continuous Quality Improvement information is accurate and provided in a timely manner. - Advises, coaches and trains Corporate teams in performance and quality process improvement techniques - Directs staff in on-going projects and development of new initiatives. - Perform other duties as assignedrequired. Requirements - Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred. - Experience in the implementation and on-going maintenance of Continuous Quality Improvement systems in a multi-hospital environment with a minimum of 5 years experience in Behavioral Health settings. - Risk prevention, Risk Management skills with progressive achievement in a healthcare environment. - Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black belt, experienced in the development of training for Lean Six Sigma and other Quality Improvement Initiatives. - Experience with benchmarking in the healthcare environment. - Proficiency with statistical analysis software, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. - Good communication skills and experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team to solve problems.
