The Risk Manager is responsible for designing and maintaining risk management activates throughout John Muir Health, including oversight of all legal, risk, and medical malpractice claims involving JMH. Collaborates with Quality Management Manager to provide consultation and resource to all JMH departments on risk/ legal/ patient safety topics. Serves as the patient Safety Officer responsible for the patient safety program. Monitoring occurrences to identify trends and patterns. Actively participates on Medical Center teams to develop recommendations and action plans related to patient safety and risk. The Risk Manager/ Patient Safety officer develops and implements proactive assessments, employee education and policies for compliance with all state, federal and regulatory requirements related to patient safety and risk reduction.

Requirements: Bachelors degree required in healthcare related field with Masters preferred. Experience in health law, risk management and claims management. Experience in patient safety and quality management. Clinical licensure/experience with management and supervisory experience desirable. Membership in appropriate professional organization (ASHRM). Ability to use multiple computer and software systems.
