We are actively searching for an experienced and energetic individual to become Room Service Server (Extra List/On-call) for Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco! As an Extra List position, this individual is expected to work 0-40 hours per week, covering extra shifts as well as vacation, PTO and sick days taken by the regular team as needed. The Role - Overview This impactful guest-facing role is responsible for serving guest needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food & beverage menu items, as well as information regarding preparation methods. Essential Functions This list is not all inclusive and should only be used as an overview of all actual responsibility. * Ensure accurate preparation of room service trays. * Deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest in-room, check completed kitchen orders with the order taker or guests original order; transport items to the guestroom in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality. * Greet guests, describe selected items to the guest using interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each items, origin, taste, and preparation methods; communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to request for tray removal according to established time standards. * Breakdown, clean and set-up of room service tables, condiment set-ups, flatware, dishware, and room service side stations. * Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. * Complete side work as assigned. * Take orders in the absence of an order taker. Qualifications & Experience * Candidates must have a minimum of one year experience as a server. Candidates with prior experience as a Room Service Server preferred. Knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred. * Must be able to cope with stress and work in a high volume operation * Must be able to prioritize and multi-task * Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends & holidays * Ability to quickly and positively establish rapport is required. * Above average communication skills - both written and oral - are required. * Current Four Seasons employees, bilingual candidates and those with prior experience in a luxury hotel/environment will receive priority consideration.
