The Rotomold Machine Operator operates the assigned Rotational molding machine to form plastic tanks and other molded components for commercial and industrial floor sweepers and scrubbers. They will also perform secondary operations (trimming, flame polishing, cut-out) to the products as dictated by the needs of the work area.
* Operates Rotational Molding (Rotomold) machine to produce tanks and other molded components * Accurately weigh-count and dispense required powder used in the molding process * Pull completed parts from machine molds * Scrape finished parts clean * Use jigs, fixtures & routers to cut-out parts per work instructions * Flame polished parts to assure correct finish level * Clean molds and/or work area as required * Change/assist in the changing of molds as required * Water test and/or air test parts as required * Confirm product quality using cooling fixtures and check fixtures to assure parts are produced to specification * Maintain on-going count of parts produced during regularly scheduled shift * Move tools, raw materials, work in progress and finished goods into an outbound of the department * Support accurate inventory and timely production scheduling by correctly utilizing the Kanban card system * Performs housekeeping and 5S to keep the department clean, safe, and well organized
Support continuous improvement activities as required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: * High school diploma or GED equivalent
or three to nine months related experience and/or training
SKILLS: * Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos * Ability to write simple correspondence * Ability to effectively present information in on-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization * Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. * Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs * Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. * Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Must be self-directed, able to work independently and in a group environment.
REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Must regularly lift and/or moved up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 75 pounds * Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus * Regularly required to stand, use hands to grip, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
Frequently required to walk, talk and hear
* Routinely and regularly works near moving mechanical parts * Occasionally exposed to non-toxic fumes, airborne particles and extreme heat.
Moderate noise level
* Must be able to wear safety glasses, earplugs and safety shoes at all times.
