Department: Information Systems
Manage and maintain storage solutions purchased by CarolinaEast. Configure equipment to work effectively with applications per vendor requirements. Maintain and monitor backup solutions to protect data stored on storage solution. Monitor storage utilization and backup activity, reporting to management on a regular basis. Work closely with DataBase Admin, Unix Admin, and Analysts to maintain high availability of computer systems. As assigned be responsible for other systems and software as either the primary or secondary support person. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. At least three years of experience supporting enterprise information systems. Thorough knowledge of storage area networks. Firm understanding of networking and client/server technologies. Working knowledge of backup and recovery concepts and techniques. familiarity with multi-platform environments. Comfortable with CLI. Experience with a variety of operating systems, protocols, and tools. Able to rapidly absorb and implement new technologies and procedures. 2 years supporting enterprise data storage (IBM, EMC, or NetApp experience is a plus). 2 years supporting enterprise SAN fabric environment (Cisco experience is a plus). 3 years working with varied operating systems (Windows, UNIX, LINUX). 1 year working with enterprise backup and recovery systems (TSM, Tivoli Storage Manager, experience a plus. Experience with Ciscos MDS 9500 Series platform. Experience with IBMs SVC (SAN Volume Controller), DS Series, N Series (NetApp), or XIV platforms. Experience with multipathing client software and LVMs (AIX, Linux). Experience with UNIX shell scripting. Firm understanding of midrange, database, and web technologies. Experience working with vendors. Experience with databases (Structured Query Language, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2). Experience with Disaster Recovery planning/implementation. Experience with clustering/high availability technologies.
