Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
Minimum Experience: 10 years of banking experience, including a minimum of 6 years international banking trade services/trade finance/SBA export lending sales and marketing experience at a commercial bank or equivalent
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of trade finance products
- Expert knowledge of SBA lending rules, regulations and practices
- Strong sales skills with proven ability to develop new business opportunities and manage client relationships
- Advanced understanding of credit, cash flow and deal structuring
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, presentation and customer service skills
- Proficient with Microsoft programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Description:
Job Summary:
Develops and utilizes strategies for sourcing and generating Small Business Administration (SBA) Export loans and other international banking products and services offered by Synovus. Responsible for initial underwriting and credit review of prospective loan packages for eligibility and reasonableness prior to submission to Synovus Government Guaranteed Lending (SGGL) credit area. Works closely with business and commercial bankers on business development efforts and provides training to keep bankers advised of SBA Export product offerings.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Arranges ongoing visits and conference calls with Bankers in assigned geographic market to promote and educate on international banking products and services and to assist their clients and prospects with their international banking needs.
Manages the loan process from initial customer contact through application, and works cooperatively with SGGL from that point
through closing. Presents loan products to potential clients, facilitates applications, structures International Trade loan proposals, and prepares initial underwriting and credit packages.
Provides deal structuring expertise in coordination with internal trade finance colleagues and external sources (e.g. Ex -Im Bank, SBA, insurance brokers, etc.) to provide the most appropriate financing solution for client's trade finance needs within the context of Synovus' overall strategy and credit appetite.
Maintains and applies a thorough understanding of SBA eligibility, policies and structure, bank credit policies, and all necessary business practices to ensure the submission of accurate and complete loan application packages.
Performs on-going facility monitoring based on analysis of client generated monthly borrowing base submissions within defined service level standards.
Maintains extensive knowledge of export and import letters of credits, documentary collections, Ex-Im Bank and SBA trade financing products, as well as standby letters of credit to commercial & corporate customers.
Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
Performs other related duties as required.
