The Communication and Collaboration Business Unit is seeking an SBC product manager whose responsibilities will include managing customer requests and commitments, ensuring successful deliveries against commitments, and supporting launch of new products and releases.
The SBC product manager will extensively work with Nokias sales teams, Regional Business Centers (RBCs) and systems engineers for responding to new opportunities, and with the SBC development team and other corporate functions during the launch process.
The SBC product management tasks can be expected to include:
Launch new SBC products
Maintain customer requirement and commitment lists, and prioritize in feature backlog
Set pricing and introduce new capacity and feature licensing scheme for SBC
Track sales and deliveries against plan
Expand SBC solutions from carrier to enterprise
Proactively identify enterprise, 5G and differentiating features for strategic roadmap
Benchmark features, capacity, performance and pricing against competition
Set strategy for integrated and decomposed SBCs
Prioritize features between lead customers, new entries, and internally-driven improvements considering revenue potential and development costs
Rationalize SBC media functionality (including transcoding) across platforms
SBC portfolio lifecycle management
Maintain level 1 and 2 roadmaps, and create level 3 roadmap (new feature summaries and benefits)
Coordinate SBC integration and verification through MNs VoLTE programs
Generate marketing collateral (datasheets, solution notes, white papers)
Update level-2 and level-3 presentations, and product description and deliver sales webinars at each new release
Ensure success of SBC entries into new customers
Develop strategy for enterprise SBC, identify priority enterprise features, expand distribution channels Qualifications The successful candidate will have at least a Bachelors Degree in computer science, computer engineering, telecommunications, information technology, other engineering disciplines or similar fields. Candidates do not need to possess an MBA degree to apply for this position, but a good background in business acumen is needed / required. The candidate should have at least 8-10 years working experience with Telecommunications as the preferred industry background.
Necessary functional skills and background include one or more of the following: 3-5 years in system engineering disciplines, requirements generation, software development of complex projects, ability to communicate in English both verbally and in written form, prior experience supporting customer trials and RFPs highly desirable, prior experience working in a matrix arrangement is highly desirable.
The candidate must have excellent, broad knowledge of the IP Multi-media System (IMS), VoLTE, IP networking, in depth knowledge of the SIP protocol, Application Level Gateway (ALG) knowledge and experience, SIP firewall requirements, Load balancing techniques, SIP interworking to ISUP, transcoding, bearer firewall requirements, WebRTC, TLS, IPsec, Secure SIP/RTP communication, and reliable IP networking techniques and redundancy schemes.
The candidate must work well with others and have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. This position requires interaction with other Nokia team members (across organizational and geographical boundaries) and also with customers across the globe where English will be the common language.
