Job Details:

* Summary of Position Description

This position is responsible for the management of quality of care issues, risk management accounts, privacy issues and patient disputes for the Consolidated Business Office (CBO). This position will manage the day to day activities of these accounts ensuring timely follow up, while working with other departments, department heads and leadership within the CBO and MaineHealth member leadership. This position will assist and educate patients in the revenue cycle process and to help them understand their financial liability to the organizations supported by the CBO. This position will work with patients who are experiencing a financial hardship to qualify for assistance and to work out a re-payment plan that meets the requirements of CBO policy and procedures. This position will be responsible for managing daily work queues to complete patient issues. Will monitor and track complaints and associated adjustments to identify trends. Work with SBO Leadership to identify training needs, workflow process design or re-design. This position will be a link between the outsourced customer service team and CBO operations for patient issues.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

* Proven Proficiency in working a minimum of 7 functions (Billing and Validation and Collections) for multiple payer Types/teams (Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid) on the HB side (functions may include cash posting or refund processing). On the PB side must be a proficient proven trainer in at least 2 specialties of (physician billing, follow-up or validation.)

* High School graduate or GED.

* 5 + years in related HealthCare Patient Accounting Field

* Able to work in a high volume, fast paced work environment and perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

* Extensive knowledge of the revenue cycle including terminology and reimbursement policies.

* Keyboard and data entry skills required. Computer experience is required with Microsoft Word, e-mail, and internet communication, as well as the ability to work effectively with electronic work quality monitoring and electronic systems.

* Requires the employee to have experience with or the capability to be trained to solve problems and work towards solutions in an independent and/or team manner.

* Proven proficiency in financial counseling, customer service and account validation.

* Ability to work between all payers/teams.

* Able to provide training and support for new team members.
