SECURITY & FIRE TECHNICIAN

To train on all aspects of security and fire protection services provided by Security Services for all Timken facilities located in Stark County, OH. This position provides training to learn the proactive and reactive aspects of security, fire and emergency services. Gain a working knowledge of all fire suppression and detection systems.

Learn the security, fire and safety patrols of the company facilities. Issue hot work permits in accordance with Company and OSHA standards. Demonstrate the proper cleanup and disposal of blood and body fluids.

Learn the operation of all mobile fire apparatus pumps, foam generators, electric generators and air ventilation equipment in a safe and effective manner. Must know how to advance, operate and direct 1 inch, 1-3/4 inch and 2-1/2 inch fire hose and fire hose streams.

Train on all aspect of the tactics and action plans for appropriate emergency response to any event such as fire, medical emergency and toxic release or any event that threatens human life or company property.

Demonstrate the ability to physically lift, physically transport and physically operate all hand-held fire extinguishers. Administer emergency first aid, C.P.R. and A.E.D., as needed.

Enforce all Company and department rules, regulations and guidelines. Regulate entry to facilities by controlling ingress and egress at gates and entrances. Successfully complete confined space training, fire burn training and qualify with a revolver according to department guidelines.
Required:High school diploma and 2 to 3 years of work experience Preferred:Associate Degree in Fire Protection with 1 to 2 years of work experience.
