Job Description
Operating under the direction of the Partners HealthCare Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the incumbent will be responsible for project support of several key strategic information technology initiatives for Partners HealthCare and its affiliates. The incumbent will work closely with business committees, IT management, and cross-business process teams to define business needs, project approach, scope, and work plan to meet both system and operational objectives.
Administers information security and risk management program to safeguard patients, staff, facilities, and physical information system assets.
including HIPAA, Mass ID Theft regulation 201 CMR 17, and other information security regulations.
Performs gap analysis, provides education, and assists departments with information systems risk assessment and development of remediation plans, as necessary, to attain compliance with information security regulations.
Assists hospitals in performing risk assessments of Electronic Healthcare Record systems.
Assists in the development and maintenance of Partners HealthCares information security policies, procedures, and standards and works with various committees to garner consensus and approval of policies.
Functions as subject matter expert in information security guidelines and regulations
Maintains expertise in information security practices and related information technologies and techniques.
Develops and presents information security training and educational material to staff, as necessary.
Works with regulatory agencies, as needed, to evaluate and assure regulatory compliance with information security regulations.
Works closely with hospital management, IS technical staff, business stakeholders, and end-users to identify business process; define business needs; develop project approach, scope, work plan, and key success factors; and facilitate resources to meet both system and operational objectives.
Develops IT strategies and solutions that comply with Partners IS standards and strategic directions.
Plans, manages, and over-sees project, utilizing recognized project management methodology including activities such as:
- Definition of project scope and objectives
- Management and status reporting tools
- Feasibility and cost benefit studies
- Requirements definition (functional and/or technical)
- System testing/quality assurance
- Training
- Implementation
- Post-implementation/on-going support
- Project administrative activities
- Documentation
Qualifications
Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in computer science or equivalent discipline from an accredited college or university required.
8+ years of experience in an information security role, with 3 + years in a management role.
Relevant information security and privacy certifications, including CISSP, CISM, and CISA.
Knowledge of HIPAA, Mass ID Theft regulation 201 CMR 17, and other appropriate information security regulatory requirements for healthcare entities
