The US State and Local Government (SLG) Marketing Manager will provide leadership and hands on management to define and execute all marketing related activities for the SLG market. The broad mandate includes marketing strategy development and field execution in collaboration with members of sales and the broader global marketing community to support the State/Local and Education (SLED) business plan and market objectives. This position requires extensive field and marketing experience with proven strengths in thought leadership, marketing execution, industry knowledge, and field credibility, as well as a keen understanding of current marketing trends and drivers in the networking industry. Functional discipline knowledge must include demand generation, advertising, communications, marketing analytics, web & online, program development and execution, and event management.
The SLG Marketing Manager will have the following responsibilities:
o Manage all marketing activities in the U.S. State and Local Government market in order to achieve a measurable performance impact on the success of the SLED Sales Organization. The role is inclusive of marketing strategy development, field execution, analysis and communications.
o Extensive field experience coupled with a proven track record of networking with appointed officials is required
o Work closely with all sales teams as an advisor and collaborator, defining go to market strategies, and subsequently supporting these strategies with effective and measurable marketing programs.
o Lead a comprehensive approach, in partnership with the PS partner marketing organization, to support transformational accounts, customer-led and partner-led go to market models - focusing on customer relevance, demand and loyalty.
o Work collaboratively with Education, Healthcare, and Federal sales and marketing teams.
o Manage the SLG marketing programs budget, and contribute to the company's financial metrics.
o Maintain strong and collaborative relationships with Americas Field Marketing, Corporate marketing/GMCC, Partner, Financing and Services marketing teams.
o Utilize creative techniques including Web 2.0 approaches to achieve objectives.
o Help business partners internalize critical insights, create ideas that will delight customers, and build strong business plans.
o Create content for Cisco campaigns that reflect state and local government insights.
o Serve as industry expert and provide support and advice to area marketing managers with a focus on driving revenue
o College degree or 8-15 years of equivalent field marketing experience required
