JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Description
This individual contributor role manages activities related to the Exton GBS organization's compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act in collaboration with Internal Audit and the Internal Controls and Business Support team.
Specifically, the role is responsible for ensuring:
Develops and implements strategies for all GBS activities relating to compliance
The liaison between the GBS functions, Internal Audit and the Internal Controls and Business Support team.
Oversees the design and implementation of internal controls over financial reporting
Manages daily operations in support of financial controls testing for SOX 404 compliance
Reviews financial reporting, identifies process deficiencies and improvements
Reports test results to top management
Stays abreast of changes in regulations to ensure the GBS organization's timely compliance
Serves as liaison between internal and external auditors
Leads the maintenance of process and controls documentation
70% Maintain the overall control and coordination of the business systems support processes by:
Ensure timely and accurate application of compliance strategies by the Exton based accounting function.
Complete GBS Managements assessment of Internal Controls
Participates in IT projects to ensure controls are embedded.
Ensure enabling technologies have embedded controls and if not develops and implements appropriate controls.
Ensure adherence to Shire s overall compliance processes.
Develops controls testing strategy in collaboration with Internal Controls and Business Support, internal and external audit.
Act as subject matter expert for any issues relating to the controls compliance.
Develops and conducts compliance training for GBS employees
Performs controls testing and reports findings and proposed remediation to top management.
Liaise with counterparts in other GBS centers to solve issues, to knowledge share and maintain consistency.
Stays up-to-date on compliance regulations to ensure GBS adherence.
Provides support to internal and external audit as needed.
30% Provides leadership to the maintenance of controls and process documentation.
Establishes and implements the strategy for the maintenance of controls and process documentation
Understand relevant business risks, perform appropriate risk assessment, and recommend mitigation plans.
Ensures controls documentation is kept up-to-date
Ensures process documentation is kept up-to-date
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or other relevant area
- 8 years experience from performing a similar role
- Excellent knowledge of processes within R2R, P2P, I2C and HR processes
- Good knowledge of ERP systems (strong preference for SAP and JDE)
- Good knowledge of enabling technologies
- Experience of working in a shared service or large multinational company environment
- Supervisory experience
- Big 4 audit background; CPA Certification
- Experience of SAP, JDE and Hyperion HFM
- Experience from the pharmaceutical industry
