Job Title: SQL Database Developer

Summary:
This position will function as the primary database developer, administrator and eCommerce integrator for the R.W. Smith eCommerce system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Design, develop, implement and maintain cross platform database systems for internal and external users/clients. Design and development of new stored procedures, views, and reports. Develop programs to extract product data and supporting information from varied sources. Deployment and administration of database monitoring/alerting systems Tuning, patching, and auditing of MySQL and Microsoft SQL database servers. Architecture and deploy MySQL and Microsoft database systems. Evaluating deployed software/code, making optimization recommendations to the application development team.
- Working with various departments to ensure requirements and timelines are met.
- Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems. Performs system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.

Education/Experience:

Minimum:2+ years developing database systems and coding in MySQL or Microsoft SQL including both data manipulation and reporting in a cross platform environment, Linux, UNIX, Windows as well as design, implementation and troubleshooting. Experienced with SQL monitoring, tuning, and alerting. Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements. Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred:5+ years experience working with Database technologies performing data manipulation, maintenance, tuning/optimization and reporting 5+ years writing developing SQL code (stored procedures, views, queries) Proven experience in installing, upgrading, and maintaining Web servers and associated operating systems is a plus Experience with the following is a plus:
API integration between systems, JavaScript/jQuery, CSS, HTML, .Net, PHP or similar programming code It is highly preferred you have eCommerce site development experience. The ideal candidate will have experience extending existing systems and writing manageable/scalable code. Experience in application Integration:
eCommerce, ERP and CRM is a plus Experience with and use of open-source technologies.
Language Ability:

Minimum:- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, reports, and documents.- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Math Ability:

Minimum:- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions as well as business math to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:

Minimum:- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
